Members of the National Council for Children, governors of provinces, and Ulaanbaatar authorities discussed the current situation of child development and protection, directions for future policy, and a draft of child protection policy from 2015 to 2020 at the extended meeting of the National Council for Children, led by the Prime Minister.
According to Minister of Population Development and Social Protection S.Erdene, the draft bill calls for the appointment of state childcare inspectors, as organizations for children have been legally in cases where a child’s rights have been violated. A childcare inspector will have the right to file petitions on behalf of a child to provide children with safety and security, to impose restrictions against parents and guardians, and to take measures to protect children from the violation of his or her rights. The draft also includes legal arrangements to touch upon revoking parental rights in cases of abuse or neglect.
