During the United Nations Climate Change Convention in Paris, N.Battsereg, the Minister for Environment Green Development and Tourism, met M.Jarraud, who is the Secretary General of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). Mr. M.Jarraud also chairs“UN-Water” which is and inter-agency mechanism that coordinates and strengthens the work of United Nations organizations and programmes on all issues relating to fresh water.
During the meeing, Minister Battsereg presented the “Climate and Local Analysis Authority”, which he runs.
Mr Jarraud has said that: “The WMO operates in three areas, namely, weather, water, and climate. We can provide support to Mongolia, with regard to technical, human resources and financial mechanisms. Projects will be implemented to prevent disaster resulting from climate change. Also, the necessary equipment and methodology can be provided through the “Voluntary Aid Program”.SOURCE: news.mn
